Blackjack has evolved over the years like any other form of casino games like backgammon, baccarat, craps and online poker. In 1953, Roger Baldwin and his colleagues began to study Blackjack more intensively. The applied statistical theories and calculation methods urged the blackjack houses to reduce. Later, however, in 1956, the results were brought out to the American Statistical Association under the title “Optimal Strategy in Blackjack” and for the first time were considered leaders for the blackjack strategy.
But the tools that Baldwin and his colleagues used were not as sophisticated as they needed to research blackjack and compile statistics.
Furthermore, Professor Edward O. Thorp describes in his 1962 book “The Dealer Beat”, New Systems of Calculation.
It was a huge success and in 1963 it took the first place in the bestseller list of the New York Times. The book hit like a bomb at all casinos and had the biggest impact of the story on the blackjack players and therefore you have changed the rules of blackjack. After all, during the 60s and 80s of the last century, blackjack was the rising star among card games in real casinos and in the 1990s in online casinos.
